We do not live on the earth, we came from it, like a wave. There is a legacy deep in our tissues, when we were wildlife, when we were elemental. 

But we are moving through such a thicket of excess and distraction, smothered and saturated without being the least bit satisfied. We have forgotten our original instructions. We have forgotten our nature. That the small world of our bodies are not separate from the great body of the living, breathing earth. 

Every culture came from the same place. Every spiritual tradition came from the same place. It came from Nature. And so we go back to the place it all came from and we listen, and ask, and connect. Nature is the wisdom we are seeking.

Engaging in the movement of life we remember our inherent wildness, our creatureliness. As we live more deeply in our bodies with all its grace and flaws we cannot help but become more compassionate to ourselves and towards all of life. We begin to return to a feeling of being at home in our bodies, perhaps for the first time since we were very small children.

Drawing from the rivers of depth psychology, movement therapy, perennial philosophy and pan cultural ceremony we will explore our being in the world through non stylised and environmental movement practice, wild swimming, solitude and connection and the ancient ceremony of the sweat lodge.

Time and space to remember the things we didn’t know we had forgotten.

There are 8 places available per retreat. 

Our indoor base will be the village hall in Caersws, Wales, SY17 5EL. 

Regular trains to Caersws from London Euston, Birmingham and Southampton. 

These are a non-residential retreats. A list of local accommodation available upon request.

2024 Wild Vigil – FULL- Applications Closed

June 14th – 23rd

We will come together for 9 days in which we will cross the threshold into 4 days and nights of fasting and solitude, returning to companionship and incorporation.

There are only 4 places available per year for the vision fast so early application is advised. Please be aware that you will need to have previously attended an Earthtongue retreat or worked with me individually before applying.

I encourage women to commit to the ceremony 6 to 12 months in advance, allowing adequate gestation time for their inner and outer preparation.
